LINDAMOOD-BELL TO HOST LUNCHEON CELEBRATING COLLABORATION WITH VISTA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
San Luis Obispo, Calif., April 10, 2007 – Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, an internationally recognized leader in literacy research and
remediation, is hosting a celebration event in collaboration with Vista Unified School District on April 19, 2007, in Vista, Calif. The event is to celebrate the successful start-up of a
district wide reform effort to significantly increase student achievement. Invited guests include, members of the State of California Board of Education, the San Diego County
superintendent and Board of Education, Vista Board of Trustees, Vista City Counsel and Vista Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee, including Superintendent Joyce F. Bales,
Ph.D., as well as local school officials.
The luncheon will commence in the Vista District Office Board Room and will include presentations given by Superintendent Joyce F. Bales, Ph.D., and Paul Worthington, Director of
Development from Lindamood-Bell. This collaboration is the first of its kind in California, providing professional development for educators and enabling hundreds of students within
the Vista Unified School District to significantly increase their literacy skills through Lindamood-Bell’s research based programs. “We are thrilled to bring the best
of what is available in the field of education to the students in Vista,” said Joyce F. Bales, Ph.D.
Following the luncheon, selected schools, Temple Heights Elementary School, Olive Elementary School and Rancho Buena Vista High School, will be visited to
showcase students engaged in Lindamood-Bell’s instruction. The day’s activities will conclude with a reception at the Shadowridge Country Club.
